Our Curriculum For Next Year

I think, after six years, I have finally found what works for our family for each subject, almost. We are very eclectic in our curriculum, meaning we don't use just one single curriculum for every subject. For each subject I feel we need to be covering I simply search until I find what works best. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes not so much.

The things that are a must-keep for our family are the following:
*Five in a Row
*Math U See
*Rod & Staff english
*Sequential Spelling
*Handwriting Without Tears
*Reading Made Easy

And a couple things that we are currently using that I'm not 100% sure we'll stick with forever, but are working for now are:
*Truthquest History
*Bible Study Guide for All Ages

And one thing I want to purchase for next year that we haven't tried before:
*Apologia General Science (for our soon-to-be 12 year old who will be in 7th grade)

So that's what we'll be using for next year. We'll have a 7th grader, 3rd grader, 2nd grader, and a 1st grader. What are some things that are absolute must-keeps for your family?

Good for you. It's good that you have found curriculum that works for your family. Thank you for visiting my blog. I see that we have a few things in common. Such as our first child being a girl. My daughter is 14. Her blog is titled pur-it-ty.blogspot.com which can be accessed from my blog under my sidebar titled Blogs Worth Visitng.

I also have a 2nd grader , a kndergartener, and a preschooler.

Thanks for visiting.

Must have for us is Math-U-See!

We are loving WinterPromise but can make due with pretty much everything. MUS is the one subject I don't waver on-- we ALL love it in this house!

I love the Rod & Staff English. It is pretty comprehensive, imo. I like the Math too :)

This coming year we are starting Algebra! JOY! :) And I am not kidding, really. I love Algebra. LOL I am looking into getting a chemistry science curriculum. I thought about the Apologia, or the AlphaOmega....

This year I have a 7th grader, 5th Grader, 2nd Grader, and a 3 year old... All girls :)

I am a big believer in Saxon Math (especially as they get older). I haven't really thought about curriculum for next year. Is is that time already? OH my!

I just came across this blog, and I find it very interesting. I am a homeschooling, single mom that just started this year. My oldest son is in first grade.

He definitely needs help with his handwriting, so I am going to check out handwriting without tears. Thanks for sharing.
