Ok, I Have a Real Problem
Hello, my name is Christy and I am addicted to junk food!
I don't know how to overcome this problem, but it's a big one. Do you know that instead of eating eggs and toast for breakfast, like the rest of my family did this morning, that I would rather eat 2 (or 3 ) Little Debbie snack cakes and a glass of Minute Maid juice (after everyone is out of the kitchen so they can't see me of course)? ACK! Something is definitely wrong here. SOMETHING has got to be done. I am supposed to be LOSING weight, not putting it back ON!!!
I still have another 65 pounds to go. I did only have 55 to go just a few weeks ago! See what turning 31 and having so many babies and a tubal does to your body? 10 pounds in just a few weeks?! I'm most definitely sure eating 17 boxes of Little Debbies a week and avoiding exercising like the plauge had nothing to do with it!
UGH! Can anyone commiserate with me? Can anyone help me? Can anyone come and do my grocery shopping and cooking for me?!
I KNOW what to do and I KNOW how very much better I feel when I'm eating right and exercising and actually fitting into my clothes. Not to mention all the things I've been reading lately about how healthy eating and exercise can help lower your risk of cancer, among all those other dreadful diseases none of us want to end up with.
I need a good swift kick in the rear. Anyone care to volunteer?

I lost 90 lbs and have maintained the loss for 18 months. I had to quit junk food completely to get the cravings under control. Cold turkey. After about a week, the cravings quit. I feel so much better without the sugar and junk.
I just read further down and realized you were attending Weight Watchers. I am a Lifetime member of WW and worked for them for awhile. The meetings are a huge key for me. I go once a month but if I could fit the time in, I would go weekly. The information recycles after awhile but for me, its hearing about others ups and downs.
All I can say girl is I am right there with you. I do the same thing and I know how you feel. I have been working out at CURVES and trying to eat better for 9 months (tomorrow). I have only lost 5 pounds and a few inches. I have not gained anymore but I want it to go down. I too have to find a way to stop sneaking my sweets!!!! and dr. pepper.
We are currently travelling - and I have been eating plastic cheese - you know the kind that squirts from a can. The only thing keeping me from sucking it straight out of the can is that my kids want some too! NO fair. That is actually the thing that upsets me the most is that they want to eat the junk that I do - so good for you for waiting until they were out of the room. I did restrict everyone to one soda a day - which is always a struggle when you are driving for days and trying to keep up the caffeine rush. We also got WHEAT crackers instead of white, and juice and water for the car trip - bananas and apples - but I don't WANT any of that stuff. GRRR - not only my waistline, but my skin and mood respond as well. Do you have that issue?
No kicks necessary! Losing weight is HARD STUFF!
Have you joined us at sparkpeople.com yet? I think our group is "Fiar Homeschooling moms"...It's been a real blessing for many of us. (And it's FREE!)
CHRISTY!!!!! I cannot believe you! All those Little Debbie Cakes! You must not do this any more!!!
You are an inspiration to us all, but I know you don't want us to depend on you. So let me be an inspiration to you right now. Stop this eating! It is a slow form of self-injury!!! Think not only of yourself ...think of your children when you die earlier than you could have... think of your children dying (sp?) because of obesity-related illnesses because of the example you are setting... Do you really think they don't know? If they don't know, how long can you keep it a secret? I used to tell myself that everyone could tell I was eating poorly... I was wearing my eating choices in my size 16-18 pants and tops...
So, please, friend, pull yourself together and get back on the wagon! Throw all that junk away! It is obviously trigger food for you that you need to find a way to stay away from until you can become strong again! I'm with you, girl!
